Google Missing From Internet Explorer Search Addons

You may have noticed that Microsoft no longer list Google as one of the search providers in the default list when you search for more providers. Is this a weak attempt to force people down their own search option tool, Bing?

More likely lack of testing for the regionalised search offering.

The problem is due to the fact that for ‘international’, ie; non-US users, Microsoft take the user to an addon site especially geared for their country of origin.

So in the UK they direct you automatically to:

.. where there is no mention of Google.

However, if you re-direct your browser to the following url you will find all the search providers listed, including Google.

Just to make matters worse on my system the selection of Google as the default search engine for IE9 only works on the 64bit version, not the 32bit. I’m not sure if this is widespread as yet but may be another problem. Seems like Google, Apple, MS are not helping surfers these days.
