Outlook 2003 – LDAP errors

Came across this one today.

Client had LDAP errors when she started Outlook. Lots of people had looked at the problem for her but no-one could track it down.
The fix proved fairly easy…

  • Open Outlook
  • Go to Tools
  • Click Email Accounts
  • In the Directories sections click – View or change directories or Address Books
  • Click “Next”,
  • Highlight the LDAP address book
  • Click Remove

The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is a protocol for accessing and maintaining distributed directory information services over the Internet. Generally used by corporations sharing contacts.
